Asphalt construction
Today is not the first time that my 2008 IS has been through a road construction area. I took a windy road back to the office and I'll be d***ed if there weren't about 5 to 7 patches of new asphalt laid down until I caught up to the road crew. The gravel was kicking around in my wheel wells. I got a little p****ed and even pulled over to have a look partway through the construction zone. On other cars, the tar would be all over the paint. Our cars don't even have mud flaps -- they don't need them. The gravel sounded terrible, but there was no tar on my car.
Amazing, worry-free design. Thanks, Lexus.

That's a good thing, cause normally rocks and gravel can do some serious damage to our paint. Of course if the car in front of you was throwing gravel at your front bumper, you'd have some nice rock dings everywhere on your front bumper and hood, and you'd be wishing you got a clear bra.
Knock on wood this hasn't happened to my car yet. I had a dark green Accord that I had to drive through fresh asphalt. I got home later that day to find tar all over the bottom sides of my doors....ugh! The freakin' tar stayed on my paint until I traded my car in for a new one.
WD40 is kind of an inside joke among my family. My grandpa use to put WD40 on everything (he was a mechanic). I remember one time he squirted some on his hearing aid when it was acting up.
