Default 06 Engine clips

Wanted to know if the engine clips on the 06 IS were ALL the same? Meaning if they were all the push in the middle button style. I know the ones for the side covers have them but does the front cover piece also have them (clips closest to the hood latch)?

I'm asking this because I recently took my car to the dealer for them to work on the car and I got the car back missing an engine clip. While looking at the rest of the clips I notice the front ones were not the same as the others. Are they all suppose to be the same on the 2006 IS, I just don't remember. I wonder if the guy working on my car broke some of them and decided to put different ones in.

Can anyone with an 06 confirm?

Thanks

I'll have to go back to the dealer and complain. I really hate going in to get something fixed and have to go back for something they did.

Anyway, Passnu, I've been meaning to get to a meeting, to meet everyone but always have conflicting schedule. Hope to make the next one.

If you have all your clips, don't waste your time going back to the dealer to get the "06 style" clips, because they don't make those anymore. They've been replaced by the new style clips with the larger round button.

+1 I agree with Javier. Its not worth the time and effort. next time in you can request they change the others to match the new style if you want them to be the same. I am sure they will take care of it when you are in next time so its not a special visit.

Is there a part number for the new clips? I wouldn't mind switching all of mine.

I guess I'll have to switch them cause I'm missing one all together and the front ones are totally different (not the new ones). Very difficult to get out.

From a post of mine back in 06:

They've changed the clips, though - these fill out the hole better and don't break NEARLY as easily. However, they are unfortunately a bit more difficult to take out than the original clips. To take these out, you have to work your fingernail into the center lip of the button, instead of just pressing the small head all the way down like on the original clips. Anyway, I like the new ones WAY better than the old ones...

I've since discovered that the new clips come out by pressing the middle section in the same way you would press the old style clips to "unlock" them and take them out.

The old clips can be seen in the 2006 owner's manual:

Thanks. Anyone know off the top of their head how many total clips we have? There's 11 in the picture, then one for the left engine cover and three in the right cover? 15 total?
