Two Lexus 18" alloy wheels for $3000???
So I went to a Lexus Dealer to get a quote on replacing 2 of my 18" alloy wheels. They quoted me $3000. Is it supposed to be that expensive?
The price for 18-in G-Spider alloy wheels on the Lexus website is $1,375. Is that price for a single wheel or for a set of 4?
I would imagine changing wheels is pretty easy so I'm leaning toward just installing them myself. But what kind of price range am I looking at? I need:
* one 18 x 8.0-in alloy wheels with 225/40YR18 tires front
* one 18 x 8.5-in alloy wheels with 255/40YR18 tires rear
Also is it possible to reuse the old tires with the new rims?

About a $1000 delivered with the Club Lexus 10% discount and no sales tax if from out of Sewell's state.
I paid $965 delivered but with a 15% off discount Sewell ran awhile back.
You can use old tires with new rims.

So here's the deal. My front-left rim and rear-left rim edges are completely scratched and the front-left rim appears to have small cracks (cause: serious curb boning). I see the cracks merely as paint cracks and I've been driving with these rims for 2 days w/o noticing any quality problems. But the dealer insist on replacing the front left rim because it's not safe to drive with. They say the cracks are metal cracks...I see them as paint cracks and the rims aren't even bent or anything.
My rear right rim also has like a small 1" scratch on the edge (cause: tight turn) from a long time ago.
The initial recommendation of the dealer was to replace all 3 wheels for $4800. But the personal recommendation by the guy who serviced me was to just replace the front-left wheel for $1500 (for safety reasons) and live with the ugly rear rims. They also recommended a $99 alignment job.
So this guy is clearly ripping me off--thanks to the heads up from you guys.
I've made an appointment with mobilewheelrepairs.com to fix up my left-rear and right-rear rims for around $150/wheel at most (probably cheaper on my rear-right rim because it's a small scratch). And I will ask the guy's professional opinion on my front-left rim whether it's still safe to drive with or it's OK to just repair it.
So I'm looking at around $350-$450 to repair all 3 rims (assuming the front left is still safe to use). If the front left is not safe to use then I'll have to spend $200-$300 to repair the rear rims and another $350-$500 to replace the front left.

Oh I just wanted to add that the dealership wasn't THAT bad. Trying to rip me off aside...after they inspected the car and gave me the quote, they did give me a free car wash
