Does ML DVD Player play MP3 DVD's??
I just purchased my IS and was wondering if the ML DVD player will play MP3 Dvd's? If so, with the Nav Hack, are you able to listen to dvd mp3's while in motion?
|
DVD mp3 as in mp3 data on DVD disc? it doesn't work, I have tried it~ only mp3 data "CDs"!
not sure about after-hack tho, ummm~ I should try that too since I hacked mine already! |
Hack or not it won't play mp3 data DVDs

I know it will play DVD-A but i have yet to figure out how to burn one. There is to much information on this out there but most of it is useless.
But you can always buy the DVD-A disc's at a music store and experience what ML is all about. |

which will eventually point you at: http://dvd-audio.sourceforge.net/ As far as copying/burning a store-bought DVD-A, this cannot be done since the copy protection for DVD-A (Meridian Lossless Packing watermarking and encryption) has never been bypassed. I assume this is what crzyis was talking about - Burning store-bought DVD-A discs. |

Exactly. That's to make your own DVD-A from existing audio files.

You can always play the Dolby Digital or DTS sound tracks available on a DVD-A disc for backward compatibility but I would not consider it equal to the full potential of the DVD-A MLP scheme. It is kind of a mute point as there just isn’t many DVD-A available unless they released a bunch in the last year. |
It really sucks that they didn't think to include the $0.60 chip that would allow it to read data DVDs.
Is there really no DVD format that we can do this with? I could live with the lack of a hard drive if only... |
