Default has anyone heard of an ISX50 being stolen?

i was wondering i know in my state alot of honda civics get stolen. has anyone heard of the IS being stolen? if so how hard is it for someone to steal it with the smart key engine push button? i was thinking when they breach the car the alarm would go off how hard it is to take off with it. i like how lexus hide the key hold on the handle underneath that cap i have to pluck it out with the key off the sensor. only used it when i was warming my car up and had to leave it so i locked the door with the key only way i found out how when leaving ur car on

If someone really wanted the car, or any car for that matter they would tow it. Breaking into a Lexus isnt as complicated as breaking into a bank, especially when the car theives are experts.

A lot of Hondas (Civics and Accords) are stolen where I live too (stripped for parts). Never heard of an IS stolen (only broken into).

woah woah woah, how do you idle your car and lock it?! i thought with the smart key you couldnt do that, which was a major upset for me.

i've heard of only one story of an IS being stolen, it was posted on here. The guy said he left his cellphone in the car under his seat and used it to track where the IS went, and he followed it and called law enforcement and eventually got it back.. was posted quite a while though.
Breaking into an IS wouldnt be any harder than breaking into a honda... an elbow through a lexus window isnt much different than through any window, the alarm may be better but, he can still grab your ipod iphone cellphone radar detector and dash off.

Was Ken's other car (a VW, not his 2IS) that got stolen

yes u can lock the doors while the car is idle. u have to use take the key out the sensor that you lock/unlock the glove compartment with and lock the car door while the car is on idle with it but u need it to get back in too cant unlock it using the sensor then only the key

Idling is bad for your car, you should be glad you aren't doing it.

the engine warms up better under load, i'm more concerned about the cabin, its freeeezing for those first 10 minutes, i like to turn it on, brush my teeth and come back out to a warmed seat and somewhat warm cabin, and i think the engine can handle 1-3 minutes of idling.. right?

I lived farther north than you are in CT for 20 years....never warmed my engine up once, and I did just fine.

I say again, idling is BAD for your engine....but it's your car.....

Idling is fine, just not recommended for an extensive period. I don't know about you, but in my area you can end up idling in traffic given any day for time.

It's not bad for your car..esp nowadays. Back then if you idled cars for a long time they would start to consume oil. But that was wayyy back when. Nothing to worry about when it comes to idling your car.

on topic, ISx50's are reportedly being stolen left and right in russia.

someone made a post somewhere.

apparently people are bored of bimmers and merc b's in russia and all hopped on the isx50 train a long time ago.

he said they made a duplicate copy of your key after you parked and got out of your vehicle and just got in your car and drove away.
