Default Problem connecting iphone's bluetooth

I've tried several times and cannot seem to get it connected to my IS. My buddy tried his phone as well and got nothing. Anybody else ever have this problem? Thanks all ~~freq~~

I have not had a phone that worked better than my iPhone, it has had 6 months of flawless connecting.

There is a hack for the nav if you turn the headlights on and off a couple of times. Then you have to select the bluetooth icon from the main nav menu. This is a small access screen that the dealer will perform in order to get the Bluetooth working. You basically have to select a higher setting range (I think from 3 to 4). This was shown to me yesterday by member Angelo. I think there is a thread for this.

I make my iphone "discoverable", go into the telephone on the nav, select settings then bluetooth, and have it search for my phone. My phone detects my car but when I click on pair, the nav screen imdediately tells me the connection failed.

First of all, make sure your bluetooth is on (ON MODE) on your phone...and keep it on continuously. The nav has to connect with the blue tooth in your phone. There's a code you have to use (should be in the Navigation manual).

It is on, my phone detects the car. It just wont make the connection.

Yeah, it took my phone a while to connect too. The night I purchased my car, the dealership couldn't even get it to connect. Maybe it's your phone carrier?

I used to have problems with my pda phone pairing but try this trick. The guy at the dealership showed me. When your phone is pairing with the car call your cell phone either from your home phone or friends phone. The car recognizes the phone right away. I hope this helps.

have you tried the reverse of what you did? Nav first and than iphone bluetooth next. I did that with mine and it connected no problem. My iphone asked me to put in a code so I put 1111 and than I put that code into the navi and it all connected. Its a unlocked Iphone using Rogers wireless.

It seems that the only part you are missing on your set up is the CODE. it should be 1111, so you can grant the access to the phone (that code needs to be typed on your iPhone!!)
Mine has been working since the first minute I bought the car.

I pretty much never have a problem connecting with my iPhone. The only time it wont is if I turn the bluetooth setting on my phone off, then back on. I have to turn off the car and turn it back on for it to connect again.
