As a newer owner, I was thinking the same thing. Since break-in though, I've had mine set to PWR the whole time.

Maybe you should ask how many IS350 and IS250 owners use PWR mode...
Since there is a 100hp I think the IS350 owner don't need to use the PWR mode... Whereas, me an IS250 owner will need to use it when I need a faster reaction! I give it up when the use of gas increase...

Most people will vote for Never because of gas prices hitting $4-5.

I use it all the time except in winter for the most part... so "ignorance is bliss" in terms of the MPG issue. But clearly I was filling up less all winter (roughly once every 8 or 9 days days with my commute) With it on I would say once a week. But there is definitly a difference... just be careful on the down shift when you hit the gas, for example when you are coming to a light on the break and the light changes to green and you hit the gas... you get a nice hop from the RPMs revving high...

How much of a difference is there between normal, snow, and power?

I forgot to try that out...

there is a big difference between the modes.

snow = feels like my car is 4000 lbs
normal = feels like my car is 3500 lbs and underpowered (wait a minute....)
power = feels like my car is 3200 lbs

snow mode i believe starts your car out in second gear does it not? power keeps shifts the power band more towards 1st 2nd and third gear fro excceleration i.e. for higher loads you may want more power. My '97 4runner had this mode too... didn't notice much difference but then again a V-6 in a 2 ton SUV leaves little to be desired in terms of off the line acceleration.

I haven't used it since finding out it gives worst 1/4 mile time. Shifting gears sooner at the expense of acceleration, I'll pass.

I don't use it much anymore cause of the damn gas prices at $4 now, only rare occasions, but IS350 gives a boost anyways, so can't complain

As a 350 owner i never use it, i tried it for 1 full day and... i got a headache from it, when your in in traffic just kiss the pedal = whiplash... I drive around in snow mode for the smoother more lux style acceleration.
