Loaner Car for an Oil Change?
I called my dealer to schedule my first oil change and I was asked if I want to wait there or get a loaner car. Do most dealers give out loaner cars for oil changes? I didn't think that they did that when an oil change only takes about an hour..... Not that I'm complaining....

well you are lucky.. i didn't get a loaner car even for my 8 hour wait to get lojack installed... i was pissed...well i guess they wouldn't trust an 18 year old but they didn't even offer a ride home...I guess they didn't want to drive from tustin to yorba linda....

I think it pretty sweet that the loner car is another Lexus. I got a loner car when I went in to get paint protection done on my IS. They gave me a ES350 for the day, it was pretty new with 6,000 miles. I see they have RX and IS for loner cars too ... I think thats an awesome that they would do that.

Depends on the dealer to some extent. I signed a Dealer Loaner Car Policy when I bought my IS.
Summary:
1. If loaner is needed for maintenance work appointment must be made two weeks in advance.
2. Loaner cars not available for body shop repairs.
3. Loaners for service repairs can be scheduled 24 hours in advance only in emergency situations.
4. Loaner cars not available for services requiring less than 60 minutes.
The service department will pick-up & deliver vehicle at home or office (within 50 mile radius) for Lexus scheduled maintenance. A free loaner car will be left until vehicle is returned. (Scheduled maintenance is essentially every 5k miles).

i will say one thing for sure...the loaners that longo lexus gives you are a hundred times better then montclair infiniti.... i would always get a based model g35 sedan sometimes clean and half of them smelled like cigarettes!! the loaner that longo me gave was a hooked up and what tripped me out the most was they asked me smoking or non-smoking. just my $0.02

I also think its pretty cool. Especially if you get another Lexus of a different model. If I took my IS250 in I'd want a different model loaner just to explore future possibilities. Pretty smart of them too, after all you might just get an RX GS or ES and fall in love with it..

My dealer always gives me a loaner if they have one (mostly ES and RX) but then I have to wait longer for my car. For example, if I'm just getting an oil change but I need a loaner, they say they can't get my car back to me until that night or the next morning.
That being said, I usually take it in on a Saturday and catch up on random errands (updating website, emails, IMs, music collection). I want a GS loaner =)
