i don't think the replacement have come out yet for the 08. It doesn't get annoy when my front rim is always covered in brake dust.

I hope the TSIB is out. My wheels are covered every two days.....and X-pac wheels aren't the easiest to clean. Luckily they aren't the hardest either

just got my tsib done on sat. i had it in for another service item and mentioned the brake dust. they replaced the pads w/out me even really asking for it. i like the new pads. they seem to grip the same as the old, and much less dust. now the problem is the damn pollen down here in florida this time of year. car is covered after having it washed at dealership on sat.

Is there a TSB# for the "brake dust" issue on 08 IS?

I wonder if they've changed the pad/compound over the past year or so. The pads they were using on the 06 were definitely not as aggressive as the OEM pads, and do not grip nearly as well, IMO.

At this time, there is NO TSIB for 2008. It only covers 06-07 at the moment.

I was told by my dealer in lex. KY that there was a tsib for the 08 brake dust issue and they would order the pads for my 5000 mile service. But I do not see one listed as well....so they could be mistaken....or just trying to serve me good.

The 08 will use the same pads as the 06-07... There is no TSIB, but the problem can still be addressed by replacing the pads and using a different warranty code. Whether or not Lexus will allow this is another story. Im sure they will ammend the original TSIB eventually.. My car has a ton of dust, and my car was manufactured 01/2008.

I have a couple of family and friends that work at TEMA. I'll ask them about it.

Funny thing is, that when I got the vehicle satisfaction thingy doo. There were like four questions about how I liked the car, one was asking about brake dust. lol.

How do yo like your new Lexus?
How did the Dealership treat you?
Would you buy another Lexus?
Are you haveing problems with brake dust?

rofl.

I had the TSIB done for my 07 and love it. I was a bit worried about baraking efficiency, but none was sacrificed. My wheels actually stay clean now. i had massive dust hours after a car wash with the OEM pads. Lexus should have known people would be upset with the dust intensive pads and thus placed the TSIB pads early in production. At least for the 07 and 08's as the complaints were pouring in. I thnk everyone should get the TSIB if available, you will be much happier.
