Need help on rubbing issue w/ pics
 

Hey guys,

I just had some 19" rims installed. I really like how they look. However, I am having the rubbing problem with the aggressive setup for the front to clear the brakes. The offset for the front is 30. The rims are 19x8.5 for the front. It is a little stick out of the fender. They rub the fender liner violently when the car hits every little bumps on the road :( Very slight rubbing when turn at full lock. The front tire specs are 235/35/19. Do you guys have any opinions on how to reduce the rubbing. Can I run skinnier tires like 215? or maybe the suspension is a little too soft, need to stiffen it up? The car is lowered on H&R springs. I know raising the car back to stock height will eliminate the rubbing issues but that is the last option. Any inputs are appreciated.

I have 30 offset 235 35 19/8.5 and rub a little too but not as bad as you describe it. I think the main problem is that you're dropped lower than I am. I would suggest going down to a 225/35 fitment, that should make the situation better.

You're definitely going to need to run 225 or 215 tires (probably 215's), and possibly lower profile tires if they are available, with your very aggressive wheel offset.

Going down to a 215 would certainly get rid of your rubbing problems for sure, but they would be pretty stretched-looking on your wheel, if you're into that.

knihc2008, thanks again for the input. Well, if going down to 215 would make the rubbing goes away, I have no other choice but to run the stretch tires.

you don't even need to run 215, and you will jack your rim up that way real fast.

You are using some of the fattest tires out there.

I'm sure you could run 225 falkens and get away with it.

That is what I am thinking. Hopefully, 225 will eliminate some rubbings. Man, I am worrying those bolts from the fender liners will cut through the tires soon. I am going to get new set of front tires tomorrow.

shave the fender lining and if that doesnt help go down to 225's. You dont need to get 215's
