Default HELP. HID fogs are in, but one doesn't fire all the time.

I searched already and came up with nothing.

It is not that the passenger side foglight never fires, it is just that I have to turn the fog lights on and off a couple of times in order for it to light up. The install was done by a reputable shop and installer whom I know well. Any ideas or suggestions??

I would have called the shop but they are closed, will call tommorow.

Thanks for any input!

what kind of kits do you guys have?

sounds like you may need some wire harnesses for your ballasts...

I've never heard of anyone having this problem with fogs, but it seems to be a pretty common problem with headlights. I'm one of them. If you do a search on this, you'll find pages and pages regarding this topic. I have an XD kit BTW.

If the ballast is a crappy one you are going to get this problem. Try to isolate the problem by switching the bad ballast to the working side (keeping bulbs in same place).

Defective kit. The wires could be tangled or being messed with inside where you mounted your ballast.

I'd have to disagree with some of the posts here. First off, the kit I have has Phillips ballasts, so I would say they're by no means crappy ballasts and I can't really say that they're defective either. I've been swapping components from the side that works to the side that doesn't one by one, then leaving it until the problem would come up again. I've swapped all components (with the exception of the bulbs) and I still occassionally experience this problem on the same side.

Mine does the samething; passenger's side sometimes does not light up at the first time. When tried to turn it off and on, it lights up fine though.
Also, it is very funny to find that I do not seem to have that problem when it is very cold.

On HID planet folks have said it's not the Ballasts that cause the problems but the igniters. Not sure if it's true or not but that could be something to check as well.

I'd call it a normal "bug".
