My trunk won't open...

....well, sort of. I can only open the trunk using the actual key. The button inside the cabin does not work, the button on the trunk itself does not work and the button on the key fob does not work. I'm thinking it could be a blown fuse but I don't know if there is one dedicated just to the trunk opening and where it is. (by the way, the gas cap door opens)

Before I take it to the dealer, does anybody have any idea what could be causing this?

Push the little valet switch in your glove box.

dw8787 Mar 6, 2008 07:28 PM

yep, you have it in valet mode.

on the left, right under the key slot

Open the glove compartment and that button is right next to the button used to open the glove compartment.

That has to be a record on solving the old "trunk doesn't open valet button in glovebox" issue. A whole 7 minutes :)

trunk still won't open

Hi, I'm having the same problem I have the 2007 IS 250 and I tried the valet switch and it's still not working. I can open it with the key but that's the only way. Any suggestions?

Scythe Mar 10, 2008 05:28 AM

=/, flip the switch again and try again

cceresa Mar 10, 2008 05:56 AM

Still no luck...

You may have a faulty switch, it is possible. I would take it to the dealer. Also, the harness for the switch may be loose.

yeah if its a button that just doesnt work idk what else to do but take it to a dealership..
