I don't think this was mentioned in the manual. You can turn off the headlights by clicking the lock door button twice on the remote and headlights turn off immediately, instead of letting it turn off automatically after ignition off. This was new to me after having the car for more than 6 months.

 

It should do it on the first click on the remote.

My GS400 did this too.... When i got my IS ialready knew the trick. Its sweet.

 

I have mine set to go off as soon as I open the door!

Oops! Yeah it is 1 click. I thought it was double click but locking the door turns off the light.
Koz, how did you set up to go off when you open the door?

 

1 click = if you look your door already by using the the black button that on the handle

2 clicks = 1st click lock the car, 2nd click shut the light off.

 

MY 08' is set ... lock once doors lock... hit it again (twice) and lights turn off

Thats the default setting from the factory for the door button & fob..

However, in both cases, the system has to sense your drivers door has opened and closed.. from when the car was shut off..

Now, if just your driving lights are on (one click on the light stalk), they will turn off as soon as the drivers door opens, right after you shut off your car..

I had this exact default feature on my 2001 IS300

It's an LPS adjustable setting.

 

It also double-locks the doors so that you can't break the window and open the door from the inside.

First click, normal lock.

Second click, double-lock and lights off.

 

same here.

 

I dont think the US models can do the anti open door thing inside. i tested it already and doesnt work..

 

That lock feature works on the one click as well....
