Anyone else charged for getting DRL's off?
I was charged $$ for getting my DRL's turned off.
For the people who got their DRL's turned off, did you get charged? The technician said, "Labor is involved, so we have to charge." BTW, I went to the dealership, not a second/third party. |
I believe there is a charge, It is not really considered a Lexus personalized setting. How much was the charge if you don't mind me asking.

I went to Stevens creek for a warranty job and they said i can turn of the DRLs but they would ask the techs before turning it off as long as its california legal. So im pretty sure it will be turned off. I should pick up the car in about 2 hours. The Job was stated 'under warranty' and there was no charge.

I just talked to the advisor and told him to turn off DRL. That's it.
|
Turned off, $0. It was a line item on the service bill and they made me hem and haw with a tech, but no biggie.
|
Did they bill you for an hour of labor?? :egads:
Because it takes like 30 seconds or less.... |
If you get it done as part of LPS there should be no charge. If you asked specifically for them to set up their tool to turn them off they could charge you, but I would think most dealers would do it free as a good will gesture.

No charge here, my dealer gave the first change on the personal settings free of charge. After that i believe it was $20-25 per change.
|
No charge -- Was part of my LPS for my 1,000 mile check up.

I had the DRL's turned off on my last 3 GX's before I took delivery. Of course there was no charge. But on my 1st GX (05), I had to tell the service department how to do it. They never did one before.
|
my adviser said it only takes 2-3 minutes and they didnt charge me.
|
I got my car back from the dealer and they didnt turn off the DRL's. They said it was illegal in CA but i said no it isnt and asked to be turned off and he said there was nothing he can do. So i was dissatisfied with that part I probably wouldn't go back for their service and most likely go to Fremont Lexus next time. I talked to a service advisor who said he would take care of the DRLs for me.
