Sup guys, at one time i had all my windows tinted but through a set of circumstances i have to re-tint just my rear window because its a new window.
Everyone i ask for a price tells me $80-100 ... is this a fair deal for one large window? it seems very steep... any feedback is helpful, im in Long island NewYork by the way.

 

100 bucks is what i was quoted to get my rear window re done.

 

$100 sounds right. You'r paying mostly for labor, not the actual tint film, so it will vary just a little depending on the quality of the tint film.

 

do they have to take off your old tint????? If so make sure they are careful not to cut the defrost lines.

I think thats a little steep. I paid 120 to have all my windows tinted, not just the back.

 

120 sounds really low... was that just a basic metallic tint? or a ceramic tint? I was told that the IS is pretty hard for tint due to them having to take off the interior door panels on the front door because of those speaker pods by the windows.

330 or 340 is the best quote i've found around seattle for a full ceramic tint installation.

 

ya same here 120 -140 is the going rate at the local tint shop for all windows except the windshield

Yep, I had this problem when I had my Camry's rear window retinted. After the job is done, CAREFULLY reinspect those defrost lines, the smallest tear will screw them up.

As always make sure it's a legit and upstanding place with a decent warranty on the work.
