Pop noise pulling out of driveways

This describes the problem to a T. It's like sitting in the car, opening your window, and knocking on the roof. *thump*

Does anyone else experience this issue, usually one once per trip? So maybe in the morning after starting the car, pulling out of the driveway, then you never hear it again. But when after you leave work, pull out of the driveway or pulling into your driveway at home you hear it again! Usually after one pop, I don't hear it until maybe the next trip.

I have this sound too when driving on uneven road. Sounds just like you wrote. Knocking, clicking noise from the trunk. I just couldn't find where it comes from. Nothing loose in trunk and the spare wheel area... very annoying...

me too!
this pop sound only happens to me after the car has been off and i reverse from being parked. after i hit the brakes to either shift to drive or slow down it does that pop sound. Doesnt do it with wheel turns or after the first time. It also comes from the front of the car and not the sunroof.

My IS 250 has a definite creaking from the front end brakes or suspension when going slowly and turning left or right while braking. Very obvious when parking or pulling into a driveway. Dealer and I went on a test drive a few months ago and they replaced the brakes but the noise never went away. It is at the dealer now and getting checked out.

Can you show me exactly where these tabs are pointing up that would cause the clunking noise because I have the same issue and I would like to get it fix.

Don't want to revive this 7 year old thread, but might as well. I have this noise as well. Only when going up an incline into a driveway or something. Sounds like someone knocking on my roof or rear passenger wheel well. I am on BC BR coils and raising/lowering doesn't alter the occurrence. It seems like this is affecting quite a lot of 2iS models. Trying to investigate further but no idea where to look, everything is tight as far as the suspension. Brakes are new....what could it be!!?!?!?
