My car has a short rattle when I start up my engine as well. Only in the mornings though. It cant be new oil i just had my oil changed less then 500 miles ago during my 5k service. Think its the gearbox? Do u guys notice it when u shift into drive from park in the mornings as well?

mine did, too. got it fixed at the dealership earlier this week (took them all day, they had to order the parts a month ago). under warranty (so it's a known issue, search this site for the tsb). and the fixed worked, no matter rattles (no more embarrassment). :)

start here.

I had the same problem and I have an appointment with my dealer on the 27th. They already have all the parts but after my oil change the noise went away...I am not going to take it in if it doesn't do it again, Its alot they have to take apart.

I stated it in my last visit to the dealer and they said they couldn't duplicate it but they did mention a TSIB on the camshaft so you guys might want to hustle that into the appt. when you go. Mine happens on cold or mild start ups so........

I had mine fixed a couple of weeks ago. There is a TSIB out on this. Do a search and you'll find a couple of threads on this topic. One of them even has a sound clip. The dealership had my car for 3 days. They ended up changing the camshafts along with a couple other parts.
