If a 350 has Nav, does it automatically mean that it has the upgraded ML sound system?

 

Nope, if you look on the console right above the CD/DVD slot you'll see "MARK LEVINSON" if it has the ML system.

 

no it does not, mine is a NON-ML Nav.

 

Also, if you've got these speakers in your rear deck then you've got ML. If not, then, no.

I estimate about 90% of 2IS out there that has Nav DO NOT have ML.

 

all you need to see if you have ML is a Mark Levinson logo near the CD slot, and a center channel on the dash. To answer the quest you can have nav without ML and vice versa

 

All 2IS's have a center channel grille, only the ML cars have a speaker underneath it.

 

NO ML mean NO FUN

 

Hey, I heard ML is not actually profossional in cars audio system. I was talking the other day with some audio experts and they were all surprised that ML is actually doing audio system in cars,metioning that the company is really really one of the best but they had never get themselves into cars'audio. So i guess the system that we have in one of kind,eventho i replaced mine of a monster system

 

The Mark Levinson brand was bought by Harmon International about five years ago. The equipment that Lexus uses is produced by Harmon Automotive, and though Mark Levinson engineers were involved in the design, the Lexus ML audio system has nothing to do with their famous high end home audio products.

Euro models only offer both in package. If you want nav, you pay 4000€ and get the ML for free Package also includes backup cam w/ parking guiding lines and BT handsfree.

True, but Mark Levinson home audio products are owned by Harmon International as well, so it is just another division. I would hope some of the same philosophy in design and 'sound' would bleed across to the auto designs. And Mark Levinson, the man, is long gone from the company anyway.

Just as Lexus is different than Scion, there are many similarities as to how the product is conceived, designed and brought to market. There is a common DNA.
