Default dashboard problems

Hi guys, anyone have experience with this.
I have my IS for 6000 km and there's something cracking in the middle of the dashboard when I drive over a bumpy road. I think it's in the region of the window heater/cooler.

What can I do?
Anyone??

Take it to the dealer/ service center. Unless you want to try and take apart the dash yourself, I would say let the dealer handle it.

Do you mean rattling sound or a crack in the dash? If you mean sound i have the same problem. It sounds like it is coming from the center speaker grill. but it is really coming from the defroster vents in the dash. I have the dealship working on it to fix it for the 5th time. Hope that helps.

I am getting this issue as well. 2nd time through dealer... they cannot seem to replicate the issue. My problem is I am getting a loud click (similar when a small stone hits your windshield) kinda noise... right at the center of the dash... maybe something inside the speaker grill ????

I have numerously mentioned to the dealer to have the techie drive it for a while but unfortunately they cannot replicate it because it's so random. If your delaer finds a fix, i would really appreciate to find out what was the culprit...

I had a loaner recently which had the exactly same issue (IS250).

Thanks...

^^^ I have that problem as well but it only happens when I hit a bump so it doesn't bother me much. I also figured it's hard to show or let the dealership hear the problem so I just let it go, for now.

Mine cracks too and i get the feeling it's due to the weather where plastic would expend or contract. Another inadequate insulation on Lexus's half.

I had this exact sound on my Honda 91 accord when they replaced my windshield.
it sounds as tho glass is rubbing against a plastic rubbery seal...and everytime i would hit a bump, it would jiggle the windshield and it would rub the plastic...anyway i got it fixed by bringing it back and asking them to double check the windshield seal...

I have the problem on warm days only. Perhaps it's a metal clip issue (metal expands on hot days, causing rubbing... ).

If I did a DIY, putting a little felt between the defroster grill and dash should do the trick...

i got the tsb done. it was better, but a couple of small rattles remain. now the main one from the glovebox area seems to havecome back. i am hesitant to bring it back, i understand that as part of the tsib the entire dash came apart/came out. not sure if i want that to happen again.

Same problem, sounds sorta like the dash is to tight, or expanding and contracting...it drives me crazy. Makes the car sound cheap.
The problem is if I take it to the dealer he'll tell me I shouldn't have lowered my car.

I sometimes get a sound coming from behind the instrument cluster--sounds like a crackling noise. I have 1100 miles to go until my 5000 service. Hopefully they can take care of it then.
