The 250 is the cheapest Lexus I think, so it qualifies as the entry level Lexus which also is a big factor when people are car shopping. If you could get a Lexus for a few grand more than a loaded Camry I would go for it if I was looking at a new car in that price range. Now a 350 puts you at about 10k over that same benchmark, and most people could care less about speed, performance, etc. so I can see why the 250 sells like hot cakes. The 250 AWD is everywhere in this area now that the car is in its 3rd year - almost as popular as the 3-series! I've got one of the few 350s, and I've never seen a red one since they only sell it in black, white, silver, or dark gray.

Funny you should mention that. I had never seen one either, thought they were as mythical as the MT, but in the last couple of weeks I've seen two of them.

Interesting, because I've actually seen two or three down here in SoFL, and they didn't have Canadian plates.

I prefer shiftstick over manual because Luxury car match with auto and Sport car with Manual.. That is my opinion...

I've only seen one AWD 250 out here....It's probably as rare as RWD seems to be on the East coast.

Get EXACTLY what you want, special order it! I special ordered it from Prestige and I am so glad I didn't settle for less. I LOVE the ML and the Nav. I would be really regretting not getting all the options because I could not wait. It took 3 1/2 months. Don't settle for aftermarket!

As a heads up my IS was 40K flat + tax & tags.

This was an 07 special order last august 06.
IS350 - Starfire pearl/Sterling interior
Navi/ML
HID headlights
18" wheels
trunk mat+wheel locks

42K for an MT IS250.... Way too much.I would expect a 250MT with Sport package+NAV/ML to cost $37K or less.

As you all know I've had lots of problems with my special order, but now they're doing it the right way now that the old general manager is gone.

We ordered a IS250 MT with Navi, 18" wheels with summer tires, rear lip spoiler, HID headlights, and preferred accessory package (Trunk mat, cargo net, wheel locks) for 32,580 before taxes. Of course, we were supposed to get a 2007, but they are now ordering a 2008 because of their error.

I've heard from lots of people about the MT, and many people encouraged me and others put it down. What made us stay stay with that choice is that's what my husband likes to drive. He tried it and liked it. Hopefully we'll have good luck with it, and you will too.

If you place a special order, be sure to read the thread that I started about what my special order experience. Learn from my mistakes and don't just accept someones word that they ordered it. Besure to ask for the confirmation that the order has been accepted by Lexus factory as well as the contract from the dealer. I was told mine was ordered when it never was. Others have experienced that here too. Be sure.
