I have found this procedure, somewhere on the web, to allow the inputting of an address while driving.

Press "Menu" button
Select "Volume" icon
Press top-left
Press bottom-left
Press top-left
Press bottom-left

This will activate the Service Menu. From this menu select "Override".

Has anybody tried this? If so, does it work? My wife has my car for the next two days so I need to wait before trying it.

on the newer models it does not. there is a post on a DIY on this site for a way around this!

 

Only on the '06, and you need to do it every time you start the car.
