Default Do we have stability control?

Stupid question, I know. I know we have traction control, with the defeat button to the right of the steering column. But does my '06 IS250 (Auto/RWD) have stability control? And if so can I defeat it?

The IS250 has VSC (stands for Vehicle Stability Control), a less sophisticated stability control system than the VDIM system on the IS350.

Here is a YouTube video I found on the "pedal dance": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMN-WEWM5IE

I dont know about the 250's, but on the 07 350's you can hold the Trac Button down for ten seconds until both lights are lit, you can dissengage the VDIM...

The original poster has a 2006; the method you describe wasn't added until the 2007 model year.

Hmmm I thought turns off TRAC and VSC. VDIM stays on despite the other assists turned off. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes. You cannot turn off VDIM. Only TRAC and VSC, and the methods for doing this differ from '06 to '07 and later unless you replace the skid control computer in your '06 with the updated unit, then it will function the same as the '07. I know because I tested it, and it works.

Wow... so the "pedal dance" it is for me. Good thing I don't plan on racing this car a lot.

Thanks for the help/input everybody.
