Default ETC Power Mode...

I see several people on this forum who drive with POWER mode on all the time and others who only turn it on occasionally...

Are there any downsides/negatives to using POWER mode often other than the decrease in mileage?

I really love the performance difference when this is on but I feel like I'm going to rag the car out if I leave it on more than a few minutes...only using it about 5-10% of the time currently.

If I am not driving aggressive, the downshift while braking feature really gets annoying. You'll be doing a nice easy slow down and then the motor/tranny jolts you from the down shift and the RPM's shoot up.

I dont think there are any major downsides, just the gas thing. However that being said it is certainly more fun to drive with it on!

It wouldn't make much sense if that were the case--if you select snow mode, it resets ever time you start the car. But--you can leave power mode on all the time. If it was going to damage the car, I would think that the power mode would also reset.

I drive with it on at all times. I'm not an aggressive driver but I like having all the power available in case I need it. For me the biggest advantage of the power mode is the quicker downshifts.

I thought snow was ROM as well as PWR? If so, then there is nothing to 'reset' because it hasn't learned anything.

If you switch to SNOW and then turn the car off, when you turn it back on it has reverted to normal.

If you switch to PWR and then turn the car off, when you turn it back on it is still in PWR mode.

Yes it is! After taken that car sideways on the U turn in the performance track at TOC I am def glad I did not test drive the 350 before I bought my 250. Way more power than I need and def would have hurt myself by now!
