What is the lifespan on the current 2IS?
Just got mine a couple weeks ago (already posted pics), but wondering if it will already be outdated model-wise soon. Will the 2IS stick around for a good while longer?

It's only on it's 2nd year and seems to be getting a great reception. I think you'll be seeing it for a while.

Seeing as how the IS-F is just coming out with at least some resemblance to the current body style, I would say the body design will stay in place through the 2010 model year at the least.
However, if Lexus follows BMW's M3 strategy, then we can see a body style change on the IS250/350 as soon as the 2009 model year. BMW always updates the M3 last.

I think it has a couple more years. But look on the bright side, when you see a first gen IS don't you still look at it? IMO i think that the 2gen IS is better looking so when the 3genIS comes out people will still look at you cool loooking 2genIS.

Depends on what you think is "dated."
The power and luxury amenities of the IS far surpasses 95% of all cars out there. I doubt that a 300+hp vehicle will be "outdated" and "relatively underpowered" anytime soon. As far as amenities are concerned, the IS still has enough bells and whistles that will make it even more luxurious than any car out there for years to come...

I would say the 2IS is here to stay for another 3 years, so a total of years like the last gen. One thing that's good about the current IS is that it is a classic muscular euro design that does not easily get boring like most japanese car does.

i say that they wont change the body style anytime soon but i say they will upgrade most of the features and have more options. Just like the IS-f comming out looks just like the 2gis but has more hp and everything still looks the same

Based on the typical five year life-cycle, model year '10 should be the 2IS' last. The 3rd-generation IS should arrive for MY 2011.
The 2IS would be pretty long in the tooth by 2013 without some serious reworking (more than revised fascias).

However, I guess there will be an engine revision in MY 2009 because it is possible that Toyota puts Valvematic into 2GR engine and pump the output to est 330 hp for 350
