Yes you can, Toyota & Lexus use the SAME parts identified by the SAME part numbers. If the parts guy is helpful he will find out which part work for your Lex. If he's not, but you know the part number then just ask for that part. If you have a 1IS then ask for the Supra filters. If you have a 2IS then ask for the filter for an 07 Sienna.

^^Uh, the 2IS does not use the same oil filter as the Sienna - that's the RX you're thinking of. Yes, you can get Lexus parts at Toyota dealers, but as Evitzee stated above, they're usually not in stock and have to be ordered.

Yes, I can. The part numbers for the IS250 and 350 are as follows.

IS250 RWD and IS350 04152-YZZA3

IS250 AWD 04152-YZZA2

Neither part number is a valid Toyota part number and are not compatible with ANY Toyota model. Toyota dealers must buy them from a Lexus dealer when needed.

Sorry, but you're wrong. The 07 Sienna uses the 3MZ-FE, and the 2IS uses the 2GR- and 4GR-FSE.

Side note - either filter will work on either car, the elements are the same. The AWD unit also contains a plastic device to attach to the filter housing to direct the oil downward and an o-ring for the cap you remove to drain the filter housing. If you buy the AWD filter (which I did) for your ISx50 RWD, you just have an extra piece of plastic and an extra o-ring for your local landfill. I bought a box of 10 from my Toyota dealer for less than $5 each (if I remember right they were $4.73...)

Do you guys know if the auto store have a oil filter wrench cap that can let me remove and install the filter cap? The filter you buy is just the element right?

And is the drain gasket the same $1 gasket as every toyota ever used from 1980s to Scion XB , Yaris etc

You should check on the latest info. 06 and back to ?, it uses the 3MZ. With the 07 they switched it to the 3.5L 2GR. And it looks like they are widely applying this across as much as of the lineup as possible. So it gives you lots of places to easily get a filter. My bad, I meant the IS350 shared the same engine with newest Sienna.

Well call me confused now. I walked in to my local Toyota dealer six months ago, asked for and was sold the correct filter for my IS 350. (04152-YZZA3)Why would they have that filter on the shelf if it fits nothing but Lexus cars?

Well... If you have ever been to the Lexus parts dept., you will see their shelves are full of red boxes inscribed with Toyota all across it.
