Alignment needed for new 19's?

Hi, I was wondering if an alignment would be needed if you put 19's on? Or even camber corrections?

No unless you lower the car! Or alter the suspension but not for wheels and tires alone it might be good to check it because it is not always spot on from the factory.

If you have RWD, you can adjust toe only. No camber adjustments for RWD 2ISs.

just make sure you have proper air preasure and re torque your lugs after about 50 - 100 miles..... your good!

Are you kidding?! Lexus charges $189 for a four-wheel alignment, and they can't even adjust the camber??? I'm having new Michelins (from TireRack) put on mine tomorrow, and the tire installer charges $60 for an alignment - I'm going to let them do it.

go to NTB... they charged me 100 bux... plus i can go in anytime within a year and get another allignment for free... no matter what... plus they seem to do a good job.

you're fine without an alignment as long as you don't lower it. if you lower it, be prepared to install a camber kit and have a major pain in the ....

My Lexus dealer charged $99 for the alignment.

I never got an alignment after putting the eibachs in... My car doesnt pull to either direction (its perfect). Would you still recommend an alignment?-- i figured No:uh:

no suspension geometry changes were made so no alignment needed

sinister2c Jun 13, 2007 06:44 PM

alignment is a waste of money on the 2IS. My cousin lowered his 07 IS250 with Tanabe DF210's from a GS to get the lowest drop with 20' Iforged.

He wasted $50 for an alignment which didnt fix anything because the toe was still within factory specs. Also the camber was only off by about 0.5 degrees from factory specs too. The alignment was supposed to be $80 but they only charged him $50 because it was already straight and they adjusted the toe barely just to say they did the work.

Mine didn't pull, either. I didn't do a good job checking my tire wear, and haven't hit any big pot holes, so I figured alignment was okay. I was wrong. After 12,800 miles, I finally turned the wheels enough to see the insides of the tires, and one is completely worn out. So...

is it true that if your alignment isn't good it can effect your gas mileage, thats what the tire shop told me. I told them i would rather not get it done.

Well, if you are dragging the inside of a tire sideways a few feet for each mile you drive (excessive tow out), then, yes, theorhetically, your gas milage would suffer a tiny percentage. However, in my 40+ years of driving, I've never heard of that as a reason to align. The cost in tires would be the reason. If your tires are wearing *very* evenly, and it's not pulling one way or the other, then you probably don't need an alignment.

^^^^ im glad i didn't get it aligned then. i swear places only wanna rip you off.
