Default Smart Access Key FOB mod

Has anyone modded their Key? I don't carry any other keys (my mirror can open my garage door) and I don't use any of the buttons on it. The chip inside the plastic remote is about 1/2 the size as the casing so it seems like it could be built into a smaller case or built into a cell phone. Has anyone tried this?

Even if possible, you don't want that, as there might come a time when you unexpectedly have to let somebody use your car, valet, etc, and you'd have to give them your phone.

How about a key that fits in your wallet?

Why bother doing all that work? The key fob is pretty small so I don't see that big a deal just keeping it in your pocket, just take the snap ring off to make it a bit more compact. If you mess up any sort of conversion it'll be $$ to replace it. I don't see the benefit.

Yeah, we can. But it isn't available yet.

Nah.

That key is for specially optioned LS600hL, for now.

I'm gonna see if I can get the card for both the IS and LS when it's available. It might be expensive, but I think it would be nice to have...

Agreed. In addition to size, the buttons are far to easily pressed by other items in ones pocket or purse. I wish the fob had a button disable switch, like Apple puts on the top of the iPod.
