Have you updated your NAV DVD from 5.1 to 6.1, and if so, what differences have you found? Im in the Los Angeles Area, and Im not seeing any changes!

Well did you have the 5.X version and were you able to keep it and/or "back" it up?

I was successful in making a "hybrid" DVD, so I have not lost the override. I am now using my "backup" DVD in the car and it works like a charm!

.....BTW, I noticed that during guided navigation, the arrows on to freeway exchanges are more 3d looking, other than that I haven't seen anything else.
I can only assume that it has updated POI's, but I have yet to find one.....

Okay so I have heard a lot of talk around here about people being able to see how many sat the gps is connected to... I have an 07 with I assume the 6.1 version. Where is it that I have to look to find that out?

This is the only other menu on my system that Ive found, besides the "override" menu. Unfortunately it does not have the sat count....that is in the override menu....
Im not sure if it is the same on 6.1, but on 5.1 Hold the hard "disp" button on the left side of the NAV, while you switch your lights from off to parking lights three times....
.....So I guess the answer to your question, is on 6.1, you do not get a SAT count unless you create a hybrid DVD

my destinations are way off so i'm probably going to update to 6.1 version as well. i have used the 5.1 overrride maybe about a dozen times in 18 months so honestly, i don't think i'll miss it.

Check out the extension to the 210 freeway towards San Bernardino. Much better on the 6.1 map version than the 5.1 version.
