You can buy the metallic trim from the dealer. All the switches comes off so the trim doesn't cost very much. Or you can go with CF I did.

Any idea how much dealers charge for the metallic trim?

Swapping my trim is high on my list of priorities, so I might just go ahead and purchase it from the dealer (assuming the price isn't astronomically high).

Is the trim definitely something the dealer can obtain for me?

Thanks for the help so far.

You are only buying the trim without switches, it shouldn't cost too much. Just ask the parts dept.

But the center console is still expensive, even though its only metallic. Plus the cupholder and the ashtray. That stuff isnt cheap.

I'd trade my silver trim, but I only have a base, so he would still need to buy the center console. Which I would doubt anyone would want to do.

You know what I kinda like? The Black/grey poplar trim that BMWs have! The new Acura MDX has it too and I believe one of the versions of the new GS have it as an option as well. Thats what I really wanted for my IS.

I agree. I wanted the metallic trim before I got my car, but there was none on the lot and it had to be special ordered. After a month with the wood trim, I've gotten use to it and now prefer it over the metallic.
