hey guys, i was wondering who would win between the two in a race?

 

unless the s2k drivers is REALLY great at shifting, i'd say IS350

 

I agree...I would say the IS250 as well

 

Even if the guy is really great at shifting, IS350>s2000 in a drag race... Around a track, the IS stands no chance.

 

I had the S2000, so cool.

Generally, you will have different experience in a S2000 or an IS350.

 

what about an MR2?

 

How do you figuare that...the s2000 has 230hp and I know it is much lighter but...

my friend said quarter mile<s2000 but in the long run is350? is it true?
i looked up the s2000 stats, it only has like 238 HP?

 

IS350 all the way!!! i raced one long time ago when i first got my car, S2000 had an exhaust, intake & headers and we went from the light, it was no comparison and then he wanted to go from the roll, he had no chance against IS350. But anyways let us know the outcome and goodluck

 

I just came from an S2000. Stock vs stock. The 350 would win hands down. I don't know exactly by how much, but the IS is definitely faster in a drag race. IF and only IF the S was launched at the right speed(6K clutch drop) and the shifting was STELLAR, the S MIGHT have a chance to be neck and neck or pretty darn close.

Around a track or autocross course, the IS wouldn't stand a chance in hell.

 

yeah i was at a party this weekend and one of my buddys just brought a s2000. anyway another friend was all like. the s2000 would beat my is350 etc etc etc. willing to bet money on the s2000 and sayin all this crap about how he would redline and the fact that its a stick it would kill me in a quarter mile. i was like ok whatever we can race anytime for however much whenever. i was pretty pissed yet wasnt sure if my car was faster or not. but after looking up the facts now. im more confident. then they said that a MR2 would kill me? i looked that up and it has like what? 230 HP also? lol i dunno . some of u car pros, fill me in.

 

There are many on the s2k boards who have been able to put out upper 13's in the quarter mile, so its definitely doable. The IS can probably pump out high 13's with ease.

An S2k with gears however could probably be neck and neck for a good portion.

I raced a Vortech Supercharged S2k from a roll around 60-70 and while I pulled ahead for a little while, the S pulled on me after that like a bat out of hell. He was also properly tuned and had quite a bit more in the engine than just the kit. He was probably putting down 300+ at the wheels at the least. IS' put down what like 250's? at the wheel? Plus all the extra weight. The S is a rocket once in Vtec.

 

same driver on each car here' s the way it would go.

-drag 1/4, 1/8th mile etc. would be the is350 hands down
-track would be the s2000 for sure.

Gernby should chime in here. he has had both car's and drove them both on courses. I am sure he would say the same.

I've raced about 4 s2000's 2 from a light and 2 on the hwy. I smoked them both, but like i said the s2000 should win on a track.

 

as long as the road is straight, the IS350 wins hands down. I have an S2K btw.

 

stock mr2 wouldn't have a chance.. but little bolts on and some here and there.. they can do under 13 sec with stock internals i believe..

mr2 modded well .. you won't have a chance... 3sgte is a monster
