Why the IS
Agree with the above, need to add option for the AWD. We were looking to buy a new RAV4 to replace the wife’s 02 RAV, couldn’t get it in the color, options we wanted (basically a loaded Limited). Had looked at the IS 350 while getting the RX serviced, she liked the luxury, performance, quite ride, and comfort, but we needed AWD so went for the 250. Not a question of money, but a solution to a problem – wanted the AWD for running up and over our mountains in winter.

Same here. I never race or speed so the bigger engine was pointless for my needs. I used the money I saved and already did nearly $2500 worth of visual/audio mods, which are more important to me.

I NEED awd living in New England. Had the IS350 been awd, I would have bought that though, cuz I like those extra ponies This morning it came in extra handy with the snow on the road. There was a 545i in front of me who couldn't get up the hill - it was kinda funny to watch... i pulled up next to him, lowered my window and said "need a hand pushing"?

Coming from a 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT, I wanted quiet, better build quality, and better gas mileage while retaining quickness, and balanced handling. I wasn't happy with the squeeks and rattles in the G35, but the need for four doors got me to trade in. I hardly ever got on it in the G35 (too much traffic around here), so I thought I'd save some gas and get the IS250. I also remember reading that the IS250 was better balanced than the IS350 because of less weight over the front wheels, reducing understeer.

I got a IS250 because I couldnt justifiy paying over $9k+ more for 100hp on the exact same car.
Plus driving the IS250 im saving money on gas mileage, insurance costs, tires, etc. I know the IS350 I would drive it like I stole it so gas and replacing the tires more often would cost even more to own it.

I picked the 250 for these reasons (in order)
1. Gas Mileage - I sold a heavily modifed Bi-turbo Audi Wagon. That thing was fast, BUT it also was hard on the budget for my daily 60 mile commute.
2. Cost - I just got a pool made in my backyard, I am broke now
3. Options - I guess it relates to cost too. I wanted a FULLY loaded car, I can only afford a IS250 with the options I want.
4. Daily Driver - this is my 3rd car, If I wanted fun and fast, I drive my heavily modified Audi TT. Again it relates to cost, Having 3 cars leave you broke :P

The 250 AWD was perfect for me. I wanted a commuter car that handles the slushy winter driving in the DC area. The power of the 350 was great but it didn't come close to the reponsiveness and handling of my MINI Cooper "S". That made the decision a no-brainer for me.
