i did not see the benifit of the extra hp for stop and go california traffic........ i dont do stop light to stop light racing, so it was just wasted money to get the IS350.

In Canada, the price difference is simply too much - $13000 in comparing to in US. Make me feel stupid to buy IS350.

$13K CAD is close to $11K USD, that is ridiculous!

I purchased the 250 mainly for the AWD, the price difference between the 350 and my 250 awd was about 2 or 3 grand if that, that wasn't the problem. I was coming from 3 previous cars that all had awd...last one was a Lancer Evolution that made almost 400awhp. I didn't need anymore tickets at my age and practicality was more important than an extra 102hp...and living in upstate New York, it is a necessity if you drive the same car all year round. However I do wish the 250 had a little more power...it kinda bothers me an S2000 makes 36 more horsepower at the flywheel than a 250 with 2 less cylinders and half a liter less displacement...it's like, WTF? Long story short if I didn't live in Upstate NY and lived somewhere that saw little or no snow I would have a 350.

I have not purchansed an IS yet, but, recently, I do find myself thinking about getting the 250 over the 350. I have test driven both and immediatly after the test drive, I was sure I wanted the 350 more because of the power. I can afford the 350, so why do I consider the 250, I ask myself? It seems like the more days go by since the test drive, the more sence it makes to get the 250.

Mainly because I needed AWD. if the 350 offers AWD I would have bought it. Well, she is happy with the 250 AWD.

As for me, I wanted the IS350 at first but it was wayyy too much for me to afford. On my current income, the IS250 was the only new Lexus vehicle I could get. I wanted a car that had luxury and performance. Since the IS250 was based on the same chasis as the IS350, I got it. The body is so darn hot!!!! Performance wise, it's ok. 204HP seems pretty low though.

I wanted the AWD and people think I have the faster IS350 that they see on the TV commercials. Most people don't know that there's a difference. So I got the best of both worlds.

Yeah, because they look exactly the same except for the bading on the back. That was a sweet commercial though.

People think I have an AWD IS250 with 306hp when they look at the badge.

I looked at the 350...but when I got mine they didn't have the color I wanted and they had nav and some other things on the 350 and I just didn't want all that. They had the 250 in in the smokey color I wanted and I didn't want to wait. Plus with 2 tickets on my record I didn't need the extra power... I got my Lexus because of looks, ride and the fact that it is a Lexus...horse power was not important to me.

I should also point that I commute a lot in my new IS so gas was a concern. I want a nice car, but at the same time gas efficient too. The IS250 was a perfect choice for me. Plus, it just looks too damh hot don't you think? I've had girls checking me out and such. Man, it's a sexy car.
