Default Telephone tracking post for IS250 6MT owners

Please post if you have called LEXUS corporate Customer service and file a complain about your transmission. Please also state your transmission problem and any resolution to your issue(s).

Also to all owners who had the transmission/clutch replaced, please post here as well (year, milage, nature of problem(s), what part(s) they replaced.

DEMIK just got his tranny replaced, if it's not under warranty, it will cost ~$5K!

I know Honda DID extend the transmission warranty to 7yr/100K miles for the accords due to a lot of owners with their transmission problems. (my 99 v6 accord replaced tranny under warranty, @67K miles).

I think if we voice our concern about our IS tranny, they will definitely do something about it?

We want to make this post as detail as possible so we will have a better idea to see how our transmission and see if we can push them to extend our warranty in the tramission ?

6MT owners, let's put our effort together and hope for the best!

Thanks!

Moderator: please kindly "sticky" this post. thanks!

[QUOTE=kickin8;2511339]Please post if you have called LEXUS corporate Customer service and file a complain about your transmission. QUOTE]

I put my complaint in with the dealership months ago in my profile---with no response. So you must Call Lexus Corporate, duplicate what you relayed to the dealership. After my other warranty work, I'll post if they did anything about the clutch issues and I'll call Corporate as well.

Post the corporate number please.

Please make sure you call corporate and not the dealer as they have no fix for the problem. We need to let corporate know so something can be done.

if enough people call 800 25 lexus to voice their complaint, i'm sure they'll take it more seriously. same should be done for the squeaky brakes too!

Yes, I called today, placed my complaint. Lexus said that it takes two business day for Lexus to return your call.
We'll see what happens, I'll keep you guys posted.

I will also call... I have posted in another thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...=253475&page=6 about the transmission\clutch problems. I let the dealer swap the transmission\clutch assembly, but the problem subsided for about 2-3 weeks and is coming back now. I will call corporate and let my voice be heard.

heres my input

after driving the car a while, maybe like no more than 100 miles i started to notice a really loud click going to 2nd gear and then whenever shifting from 4th to 5th it was grinding.. but only sometimes. so brought my car to tustin lexus and had them check it out [took it to westminster first but they just said blah blah you're just short you're not pushing in the clutch all the way so they didnt do jack crap for me. i hate westminster] so tustin told me they would just replace the whole tranny because it was under warranty and the discs were out of place or something dont really know cuz wasnt really paying attention but i was like eh whatever new tranny thats cool with me. so 2 days later tranny drop was done and took the car home. havent had any problems with the tranny since then

This is exactly the reason Lexus will not make manual transmissions in the future. Keep complaining to them, you will accelerate the decline of the stick. Thank you.

I dont think it has to do with that. it's a design flaw.

We are paying a considerable good amount of $ for a quality car, while the designer getting all that $$$ and give us crap ?

If that's the case, I think all of us would prefer buying 2 SCIONS instead of IS250?

So is there even a fix? That is to say, is a new transmission/clutch going to be any better or more durable than what's already in there?

I'm new here, and thinking about an IS250 6MT, which is why I ask.......
