MP3s on CD - ID3tag problem - "Extra Genres"
Makes sense... I guess it's just the ultra speed (24x) that are having a problem...
I'll take some pics in a few days... But, basically, when you click on song detail, you will see "artist, song, album, and genre"...
also I have noticed this. If you do a .cue burn or a disc at once with nero like on a continous mix cd, it will still sometimes have a slight pause when it goes between tracks.
regardless I am still happy with the stock head unit. just wish we could adjust the amp crossover and power output.

genre is the category type (field) of music listed in the song details. Such as rock, country, rap, etc. In iTunes you can sort the music into playlists using, let’s say rock, it will list all the rock music together.

But, you can use Roxio Music Disc Creator and load mp3 files and it will automatically convert them to ac-3 files on the DVD... So, in effect, you are taking your mp3s and putting those songs on the DVD... You can fit 1000 mp3 songs on a dual layer DVD... That's what I was talking about when I responded...
Sorry, my posts typically aren't geared towards people who haven't read all previous threads
OK, here's the answer:
ID3V2.3 does NOT show genre on our system.
ID3V1 DOES show genre on our system!
.m3u playlists are NOT supported. The only way to get tracks to play in order are to rename the actual files to start with track number (01, 02, etc...)
So, there it is... I retagged all my mp3's that I want to burn to CD for my Lexus with ID3V1 tags... Genre works now!
I used MP3 Tag Tools V1.2 to remove the ID3V2.3 tags from the mp3s... Great tool for that, and it's free...
Hope this helps others who are pissed at the "Extra Genres" crap...
