mods to improve steering response?
Perhaps because it replaced an M3, the steering on my '06 non-sport 350 seems way too vague.
I assume new tires (perhaps Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's) to replace the stock Dunlops plus stiffer shocks and/or an anti-sway bar would help. And maybe stiffer springs, though I'm not interested in lowering the car.
Any thoughts or recommendations as to specific products? And is there anything that can be done to the steering system itself or with the front end alignment to improve steering feel?
TIA,
cooney

None of that's going to make much difference in how your steering feels. It might respond better, but the steering in the IS is electronic. The M3 is hydraulic. Every car rag from here to eternity has been *****ing about poor feel from electronic racks.
I'm used to it, my other cars all having electronic steering as well, so it doesn't particularly bother me.

Wider tires will improve feedback. Most of the complaint is based on too much assist from the electrically assisted rack. Wider tires will give more feedback, and the IS350 is quite heavy, so wider tires on both ends would not be a bad thing at all. MkIV Supras are about 200 lbs lighter, and use 315s on all four corners for road racing. I'm sure the IS could use equally wide and sticky rubber if someone were enterprising enough to fit the appropriate fender flares, tires, and wheels.
