Other than the novelty sake this looks like an answer to a question nobody asked.
I have to comment on this one. The rear view is not for sole use in backing up, it is so you can see what is DIRECTLY in front of your rear bumper. Like a child. I am sure you have all heard the horror stories of dad running over son when backing out of driveway.. It is a safety feature not a convenience.

If you are backing out using ONLY your mirrors.. oh my.

Tossing it in reverse while driving? I bet the first time figuring this out was scary.

Time to read up. I've been wondering how to get my rear camera to work whenever I wanted. That should've been an option on these cars with back-up cameras.

Default I know this thread is really old but... I could really use some help!

So I’ve completed the backup camera switch it’s works great and I’ve now moved on and attempted to wire up a video input to the factory monitor using Pin 14 and 27 as suggested in the beginning of this thread.

the good news is nothing blew up or burned out... the bad news is... the video is being displayed in black & white.

ive read this thread entirely and I’m still completely clueless on rather or not there’s even a solution for this?

any input is appreciated

Alright I’m still scouting the net trying to find a fix for this monochromatic display issue. Out of sheer desperation I decided to reverse the signal and ground lines for the composite video input (yellow video input)

and I’ll post the interesting result in just a second...
