I haven't been able to find a burning program for OS X that will let me set the Book Type. I even posted a couple of questions online about it, but so far no answers.

what happened with your white lines issue? how did you fix it??

 

You could try using Bootcamp and installing Windows (you can use an unlicensed copy for 30 days). I myself am a Mac user, but I have a Windows PC.

Also, I'm in the process of buying the Gen 5 11.1 update. I'll let everyone know what ends up happening.

 

Just finished making a 5.1 + 11.1 hybrid (Gen 5) and can confirm that it works great and debug menu + override still works.

I have a 2006 IS350 with the 5.1 beforehand. If you do, too, and you've never upgraded your navigation before, you can insert the 5.1 + 11.1 hybrid, turn the car off, then back on, and you're all set. (Same firmware, just new maps, so no upgrade happens.)

TL;DR 5.1 + 11.1 hybrid works. If you already have 5.1, no need to mess with battery or fuse.

Anyone knows how to completely "RESET" the ML Navigation System in a 2008 ISF?
I back up my 2011 map disk and created a hybrid disk (with a 5.1 loading file) so I can use the over-ride.
I tried unplugged the battery and the 'Radio 1' fuse.
When I connected the power, it still won't load the 5.1 file.
it said "A program can not be cannot be read. Please consult to a dealer."

Anyone one can help?

Hello: My 2007 ES350 UL model navigation system does not seem to work. Whenever I click on address or Intersection, it cant locate it.
i took out the DVD and its a North Amercia U30 D Version 5.1. what are my Options:
1. Do I need to buy a new disk since this one is 4+ years old. if yes, which version?
2. Is there a way to use the content of the current disk, add some files and burn a new DVD. i saw some posts regarding hacking the NAV system but mostly related to newer models.

I bought 11.1 version disk and had 5.1 disk already. I made an image of 11.1 with ImgBurn and then used ISO master to replace loading.kwi file with that from my old disk. Burned two DVDs one with imgburn another with Nero. Verbatim DVD+R DL media, DVD-ROM booking type. Both disk fail - no error message just blue/black screen - nothing comes up. Please help.

Edit: I was able to do it eventually. I think editing the image using ISO master was a mistake. I copied files to disk, replaced loading file and created and image with ImgBurn and then burned it on dvd. Not 100% sure the two-step process is required but it did not hurt (and we're in TX)....

 

Just got 12.1 disc and 12.1 loader size is same as 11.1 at 121,460,736 bytes ?!

I'm starting with hybrid now.

 

did your hybrid disc work? i have an 08 isf and my maps work but the firmware doesnt seem to update..ive unplugged my fuses and battery for about a minute each time..but it doesnt reset....i see the loading of the disc though when i start the car up...just the firmware hasnt changed

 

Thanks for the information guys. I know this is kinda off topic, but I also own a 2010 Prius which uses the Gen 6 discs. Can I use the file from V5.1 and replace it on the Gen 6 disc? Has anyone tried this?
