Got the badges off tonight. Going to sand them and then spray paint tomorrow. Taking them off was a pain. Needed lots of dental floss, a towel and my dads muscle :x Hopefully I'll be able to post a diy and photos of completed emblems by tuesday.

hope so! I sanded the letters down but I'm not sure how much I need/should sand them.. you can see that they aren't like before, and you can feel it a little bit, but I don't know if i should get some rougher grit paper to make it stick better :\

DON'T use coarse grit sandpaper on your emblems, you'll only scratch them. It sounds like you already sanded enough - just wipe them down in isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) and spray them!

Javier
so sanding them just enough to notice a little difference in texture is good enough?

I'm done spraying!! the emblems look fantastic! I'm waiting until tomorrow afternoon before putting them on the car just to make absolutely sure the paint is dry. It looks so good and I'll post up a diy with photos if anyone's interested.

Way to go! But give them plenty of time to fully dry. Often they will appear dry to the touch but the paint is still drying and is still soft. You don't want to put fingerprints into the paint when you put them back on as you'll need to use a bit of pressure to seat the adhesive. You can use your fingernail on the side to see if it is still soft-ish.

Okay guys, here are some pics on removing emblems.

The tool is a paint can opener from Kelly Moore

The hole is behind the "S" , "0" and the Lexus
