Default OK here's the situation...help needed

I currently own an '06 IS350 18" rims. Need winter tires and want to go 17".

I want to run 215's on all four corners. What height tire would work with 215's and still keep the staggered setup?

215-?-17
215-?-17

Would this work?

215-45-17 front
215-50-17 rear

would those tires fit over the calipers? would they cause any issues with the speedometer?

Thanks!

Vit

215/45-17 in the front and 215/50-17 in the rear would be the closest to stock diameter of the 18's. This would make your speedo off by approximately 2% too fast, i.e. 60 mph on your speedo would actually be 59 mph.

I personally went 225/45-17 Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSI's all the way around to be able to rotate the tires and extend their life. I have mine on the stock Lexus 17" rims, which clear the IS 350 calipers just fine as they are the base rim for the car.

BTW...the true meaning of being staggered is to have wider tires in the rear for more traction in the dry. If you want to run the same width at all 4 corners you would be best getting 4 like tires to be able to rotate them.
