Does anyone know the latest revision of this TSB?

My local dealership said they won't perform the bulletin because it has already been done on my car. I'm almost at 69000 miles, so I need to figure out soon if I do in fact have the latest parts and am indeed out of luck, or they're just trying to not lose out on some money.

I've heard revision 5 twice - which is L-SB-0156-08 dated Oct. 30, 2008.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Park your car until you know for sure if you can still take it to dealer for this job at no cost to you.
Remember, every mile counts and don't want to reach 70k in the middle in your way to dealer.

Anyway What oil do you use from Toyota? Just regular 5W30 or synthetic?

I am not going to touch my engine right now.. Screw it, I am going to change the oil every 3k miles even if this is synthetic. We'll see...

I have leaking windows, both front bearing hubs are very noisy and I will need replace them which is $250 a piece , now cranking noise, WTF I am asking?!??? Did I buy Lexus or freakin Ford?? Time to go back to bimmer hell yeah!!!
I use regular 5w30. Never used synthetic. Sorry to hear you been having more issues that some of us here. The only issue I have is the start up noise. I just replaced an oxygen sensor which was $200. Lucky, my mechanic just charged me $50 for labor.
good luck

There were two bulletins. One was for cold start and the other for hot start. Make sure you have the complaint well documented as you're almost at the end of your power train warranty!

My problem came back last month. I did the recall at around 43000 miles.

Now i'm at 63000ish miles and the noise came back.

I'm pretty sure I will have to pay for the next one.... This is not good..

My gone for now. I changed for Castrol Edge 5W30 fully synthetic and filled a little above max mark on dipstick. Cold start up rattle noise go away, we'll see for how long...?

These motors don't like low oil level so check how is yours.

Castrol never let me down in any car.

I've been using castrol for the last 30K miles. Before that I was using royal purpple. My oil level is normal.

Its just annoying that's all. My Ac compressor failed at 55K and it cost me a whooping 2300 for it and now this crap again.

Make sure you pay close attention to yours with the extended warranty they give after the recall. I need to check it to see how long is that extended warranty.

Once they can hear the noise it should still be covered under the power train warranty!

The noise just came back after a 4.5 year hiatus.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-part-2-a.html

I have just over 60K miles on it now but my 6 year powertrain warranty ran out 5/10/12. Just my luck. I guess I'm just going to have to live with the sound now as I can't afford the (apparently temporary) fix...

Take it back to your dealer and take it up with Lexus Corporate if need be,....it can't hurt.
