Default rear right window opening by itself

Every now and then my rear right (from the seated driver's perspective) window would go down by itself without notice which would usually scare the heck out of me especially the first time it happened just barely 24 hours after I got my windows tinted (they tell you not to open your windows for a while).

Anyway I've been meaning to post this for a while but since it started happening again lately, I figured it would be a good time to share that I realized shortly after that it was my left knee hitting the window buttons that was making the window open.

It still surprises me a bit every now and then when it happens but not enough to give me a heart attack anymore. Has this happened to some of you or is it just me?

Hmmm... How long are your legs?!?

Good to hear it's only your knee, not something electrical. Something similar happened to me that everytime I parked the car and walked away, the windows would roll down automatically after locking the car. I realized that the key's unlock button was being pressed in my pant pocket. The key now resides in my backpack all the time...

I just looked at my driver door panel, and I can't figure out how you could roll ANY window down with your knee.

It's pretty out of the way, but if you wear bulky pants or have an apron or something on, it can happen. Unlikely (you're the first one who's had this problem happen), but possible...

Maybe Lexus should rename that door panel from an "armrest" to an "arm/legrest" and see how fast MB and BMW follow suit.

Well its a good thing its just your knee and not a real issue..

For example many of 02-06' Mini Coopers (all models) have experienced some sort of software issue which sometimes allows the windows and/or sunroof to open on its own at random, at any given time once the car has been turned off and parked for a while.... Good job BMW!!!

Thank you, bgarre and 4TehNguyen! I'm glad it's not just me who's had this happen. Frankly, I'm surprised with the disbelief coming from some of the members especially seeing how the door panels are angled.
