Lighting mods
i run vleds leds in my rear turns and yes it does blink faster, they have a led in-line resistor on their site to stop this, they have 2 with diff amps loads, which is the 'best' one i dont know, i like the fast blink so i've never bothered trying to find out which is better.
www.carsontoyota.com // i got mine there and i had two different people do the installs...my friend kevin thats been installed sidemarkers on acuras for the last 19752979274 years and can probably do it blind..he did my cut and tommy @ musicbox did the wiring

OMG I just spent the entire day reading this entire thread... mostly to figure out what light upgrades to do for my interior and headlights... learned quite a bit but man what a read!
Thanks to everyone who contributed along the way.
I spent time shopping on superbrightleds.com and v-leds.com as well as ebay and Amazon. In the end I have decided on the following:
x6 SMT 5LED 194s from v-leds (2 for parking lights, 3 for dome, 1 extra)
x2 WHITE 2LED Festoons from v-leds (rear dome)
x2 PIAA 9005 Intense White bulbs from Amazon (right now they're on sale there for $42.57 plus free shipping)
oh and I found from searching the VLEDs coupon code either CLUBLEXUS or TOYOTANATION gets you 15% off which was nice. I don't think that was ever mentioned in this massive thread (but mentioned elsewhere on CL) so there you go I have now added to it.
my lighting goals so you can understand some of my logic in these choices:
- wanted interior domes to match the OEM interior LEDs
- wanted better (hopefully whiter) DRLs but didn't want to go to LEDs and lose the high-beam function
- change out the parking lights while I'm in there to remove the yellow coming from that source
- considered the new LED interior package from SewellLexus but decided I don't want to change the door lights/lenses
so there it is. I don't consider myself guru-level just yet, but I am certainly going to be "illuminated".

Do not use the modules with halogen bulbs, they are only for LEDs.
Use this, but ask for one with a 9005 module:
V-LEDS PLUG N' PLAY IN-LINE HID DRL MODULE + HARNESS
$19.99
You can even install a 3K HID kit if you want because the power is being drawn through the relay directly from your battery. This is totally safe, and the right way to do this mod.

umm, negative, you keep looking at the 9006s you need 9005. see the link I gave you.
as for how it looks, I dunno, still waiting for my lights to arrive. but I am going with PIAA bulb for the DRLs not LED because I want to keep my highbeam function. But if you go with an SMT white LED bulb it should match 6500K pretty good.

that was the first bulbs i used, PIAA 9005's... the result was...for DRL, disappointing for the price that you pay for piaa, the color was only a little less ugly yellow BUT when i tried the hibeams, OUTSTANDING
you'll like the hibeam part of it. The bulbs are now on my friends wifes 9th gen rolla
