Default Aluminium sports pedal

Does anyone know if its possible to transfer just the aluminium plates from OEM pedals? Most breaker yards sell the entire pedal but sees like a lot of work to change the entire pedal, can the metal plates be removed and transferred to OEM pedal?

If they are original Lexus Aluminum pads, then they should be plug and play.

Except for the Gas. You will have to remove the pedal for you to be able to install the pad. It was a bear to get it out. There's a bolt up in there that is not easy to reach. Good luck. If you do a search, you can learn more. But the pedals are worth it.

Brake and clutch are slip-on.
Gas has a roll pin holding it onto the pedal.

For the gas you need to remove the pedal and push out the roll pin. I would suggest getting a new pin for the installation. Alternatively, I would say just buy the gas pedal pad new (04000-14253), it's relatively inexpensive and includes a new pin.

How do you push out the pin? it seems like a hollow pin and where do you get a new pin from? How does the pin stay secured? Can I not keep the pedal attached and use a clamp to compress something through the pin hole?

The pin, the pin, that's a pain. Look at install pics from prior posts.

You need a roll pin punch same ID as the pin. So you can pop it out. Best is to secure it on a vise. Then place the new one in. The diameter will be slightly larger hence roll pin will conture the the existing diameter. You tap it in until the pin is flush to the top surface. This will prevent it from coming out.

Search on YouTube how to remove roll pins

I've got the entire sports pedal accelerator assembly from a breakers yard, seeing as the assembly needs replacing, will it just be easier to just swap the entire assembly as the replacement part with the pedal is complete piece. Or will the ECU pickup some issue if I replace the pedal? What's the chances of a faulty pedal? Do they go faulty?

I've yet to see a post of one going bad on this platform.

As from it being from the wreckers, and not being able to see how it was stored. I'd just swap it for the working one on the car.
