Default Anyone using 18x8.5 on front of IS350

For the IS350 can a 18x8.5 rim be run on the front with stock tires ? Also whats the widest tire that can be run on the front . Also for the rear setup using a 18x8.5wheel can I run a 275 ?

check my aftermarket wheel sticky at the top, many many setups of people with aftermarket wheels, wheel specs tire sizes everything. I wouldnt suggest putting a 275 on a 8.5" its going to need a 9.0 or a 9.5

Well, I have gone through the sticky.
All I want to do is run the G's in 8.5 all around with a more agressive tire.
Is this a problem.
Thanks for your help.

225's on an 8.5" wheel will work. Although the wheel will be slightly wider than the tread (leading to a slightly stretched look), you'll be within the manufacturer's recommended width.

I'll be running 18x8.5 +40 offset when my volks get here and I'll start off with a 225 tire (because I got a great deal on some PS2's). After that, it'll be a 255/35, which is the same diameter as the stock 225/40 tires.

I wouldn't run a 275 on an 8.5" wheel, as mentioned above. If you want to go 8.5" all around, I might suggest 245/35 or 255/35 in the front and 255/40 in the rear.

just an FYI, the team lexus blue 350 at the naias had 235/35/18F 275/30/19R on 8.5F 9.5R

anyone care to venture a guess as to why the front tires are thicker than the rear?

the 2is wheels come stock 8"F 8.5"R. do the gspiders not come in an offset package?

i'm not much for changing out wheels just for looks, performance should be in there somewhere.

what did you mean by thicker? are you referring to the sidewalls or diameter? sidewalls in the fronts are 82.25 mm tall and the rears are 82.50 mm.

Subscribed, just went all square setup. OEM split 5 spoke 18" wheels 8.5 all around with a 1/8" spacer on the front. I am thinking of getting 235/40 or 245/35 all around so I can rotate tires. Any new feedback on running 245/35?

You can run a square set-up of 255/35/18 on 18x8.5 +35 wheels without rubbing issues. One of our CL members recently did this square set-up and he has no issues with tire rub.
