Question's about ordering through the Internet
 
What is the reccomended protocal when ordering a car through the Internet? I have never done it this way before and I would like to because I am just too busy because of work and do not have much free time. Do they tend to take you less seriously when looking for a deal? I was just planning on emailing the Internet sales dept of each dealer in the state and nearby states and ask them point blank what is the best price they can give me. Should I take another approach.

What's the best way to let them know I am serious and not wasting their time. I want to buy the car before the end of this month. I tried a search and did not find any topics about this so sorry if it has been covered. Can someone of you guys who have ordered through the Internet share their experiences.


p.s. Should I wait when it's getting closer to the end of the month? I wanted to make sure I contacted them in the middle of the month so they could check their new allocations.

dealers take internet quotes seriously, I got bored one day and asked a local dealer over the net what how much for this model yada yada, and I was bombarded with emails asking how can i help you with this, if you want to come by please come talk to me, are you still interested, etc. Just mention the model and what options you want for a quote.

An internet sale that is completed is MUCH easier on both sides time wise and frustration wise, if youre happy with the price you go to the dealer spend 30-45 filing out paperwork and youre off. MUCH less time spent playing mind games and negotiations with the salesmen and managers

i think dealerships have an "internet sales manager" who is dedicated.

Although the automaker's website usually says you will be contacted with a quote, my personal experience was that I was contacted and asked to "come in for a test drive and let's talk about it". I guess their assumption is that once you drive it and fall in love with it, you'll be less likely to haggle because you want it so d*mn bad. :p
