Nice, Redpaste. Are you gonna get black delaware plates to go with it?

I was thinking of getting the black tags, aka porcelain plates... but I do not like the 5 digit set up
for example. 53-345. I dont like the space between the 2nd and 3rd digits. and 4 digits are really expensive. My g/f mom has one and the going rate is about 12-15K. 3 digits are about $30 grand.

Plus, even 5 digit tags you need to buy one from somebody willing to sell it, DMV does not have anymore

That's one expensive mod. A buddy of mine has one in the 300s and he's always searching on ebay for even lower numbers.

The way it was explained to me, the black tags are a status symbol in Delaware where the lower the number the higher the status of the person. I think the lowest numbers are reserved for state officials like the governor, treasurer, etc. But people retain the rights to the numbers and pass them on to whoever they like and like redpaste said, on the rare occasion that one becomes available, people pay a pretty penny to get it.

Pretty much like redcell said. It's like a status symbol, "hey look at me" "i have money to buy dumb things" you get the picture.

Delaware is one of the rare states that doesn not have letters in their license plate numbers, im guessing mainly because there are not enough cars to fill up a 6 digit plate.

The price of the tag will never go down. its almost like an investment, as more and more people register their cars, they will want black tags but they are limited to numbers under 86,000. (i think)

#1 i believe belongs to the Gov. low 2 digit tags(10-30) go for well over $100,000.

I just think it looks nice on a black car, and having a plate with just the number "1" or "20" or "2020" would look pimp.

I'll post a picture of some when I see them on the road

Cool

Who says you have to go to college to learn stuff I'm always learning something here. Some people have more money than sense. I guess its a way to fill the state coffers. And I'm guessing then that you don't have vanity plates there since you said they don't use letters in the plate. Do you have 100's of different plates to chose from like we do in Florida? Every sports team, college, or charity has a specialty plate here.

Sorry, let me clarify my last post a bit.
We do have letters to an extent. Letters will be at the front, but never in the middle, or end, example: "23BT57K"

Letters would be either "D" for dealer, "PC" for passenger carrier "C" for cargo, "CL" commercial license. Example, PC24356, D4033 C8765, and yes we do have vanity.
