Anybody know if ethanol can be used as an alternative? I read all the web info and saw nothing about it.

Seems Ethanol will likely be getting a big push in the future. I know right now there are only 600 stations nationwide that carry it but there is bound to be a big push by congress to go this route. There is just too much risk in the current oil market and too much demand for oil.

 

it takes more energy to create E85 than you get out of it.....another stupid decision by the government.

 

Well... that may or may not be true depending on who you talk to.

But regardless, to answer your question, NO, don't put ethanol in your IS.

 

FYI, most are mixing the two fuels and this will be done in the summer.

 

You'll likely only ever find E85 ethanol in north america... i.e. 85% ethanol, 15% gasoline. You can't offer 100% ethanol in most areas of north america because when the temps drop, 100% ethanol gets really thick.

 

Yes, thats true. Mobil gas will contain ethanol by July.

 

None of my cars, or family's cars have ever used gas without ethanol in it.
