I just picked up my IS on Monday and they told me that Sirius is slated to arrive either the last week of May or the first week of June. If you want the one that is fully integrated with the Nav, it will cost you at least the $770. The $495 one is the one liner FM modulator version. At least that is the story I am getting.

My dealer told me the fully integrated with Nav will be 595.

Does that include installation?

It should be. I preordered as well too.

Prices just vary from dealer to dealer. If you figure the retail price of the unit is probably close to 500 and dealers charge anywhere from 200-500 to install it, it starts to add up very quick.

I would suspect that any dealer that is installing a non intergrated one is doing so on their own. IE getting a stand alone kit, doubling the price and then overcharging for the install.

I am currently using a $50 Sirius one player hooked to my aux jack and its getting the job done while I wait for my Lexus kit.

When I bought my car, the dealer said they'd install the Satellite unit free when it came out in a few months. Seems they are supplying them to all '06 Buyers for free with 8 months service. I didn't pay attention as to whether it was XM or Sirius as I wasn't interested in pay-radio but I'll probably have them put the unit in since it's free. This is Longo Lexus in Los Angeles (El Monte) BTW.

Default SIRIUS installation costs!!!

I just picked up my new Blue Onyx IS250 a couple weeks back from a PHX Lexus dealer, and when I had inquired about Sirius Satellite (integrated with NAV-no aftermarket parts) they told me that the kits haven't come out yet, and that when they do, sometime in June/July, the cost would be 1600.00.....Has anyone else ever heard of such a high installation cost for labor and an internal antenna to be placed on the inside of the car (behind the rearview?)

I have heard of this.
Check my sticky at the top of the Audio forum for details on the inside windshield antenna. It is better to have them install a roof-mount one.

Which dealership quoted you that price? I had my IS250 in Chandler Lexus and Scottsdale Lexus. The guy at Scottsdale Lexus told me they don't do XM installs and they prefer Sirius. We I see him next we, I'll see what he's installed more of in the IS250 now!!! Obviously it will be XM since Sirius isn't available. I've had XM since the week it came out.

That black and silver micro dot antenna you recommend in your sticky would be a real eyesore on the roof of my white car.

Would the micro dot antenna work on the rear parcel shelf, in the position that people are putting the Lexus XM antenna?

Yeah, I have a white car too. I'm getting ready to swap out the antenna on that car with the dot antenna. The antenna can be painted to match your car, as long as you don't use metallic paint, which will affect the signal. The GS Diamond White Pearl has glass crystals in it, so that's OK (my current 'huge' antenna is painted with that stuff).
If you insist, you can put the antenna in the front corner of your dash (I have it this way on my wife's RX300, seems to work OK), or you can mount it on the trunk lid. You can only put in on the rear deck if your rear windshield doesn't have any metallized tint on it. You can try it to see if it works.
