Default iPod mount setup

Has anyone found a good way to mount the iPod somewhere? It is a hassle just having it sit in the center console. Thanks.

izzyracer posted this image a couple of months ago (here) -- you might try to PM him, though he's already sold his IS350 and doesn't show up often

Belkin makes a TuneDok holder (info here) that also fits in a cupholder:

Or the Griffin iSqueeze, which you can get for $8 from amazon.com:

Or just Google cupholder iPod mount and you'll get thousands of hits.

The above pics looks pretty cool but I think it would get in the way if you do a lot of sport shifting. Perhaps there is a way to use some sort of remote.

Next year, Lexus will probably disable sport shifting if it detects a cellphone or iPod in use.

I've got this and love it, works great: http://www.theistore.com/ijet.html

I was able to get it for around $30NIB including shipping off of e-bay.

Ok, that looks good. I would get one but it won't work with neither my Video nor Nano. Says coming soon....

I got the Belkin that fits into the cup holder. But since it is the only cup holder, it became a pain when I would go through a drive-thru and no place to put the drink. So I pulled the center console and drilled a clean hole with a step-bit, just left of the cupholder. I took the Belkin dock, which threads into the rubber cup, and threaded it directly into the hole in the console. Since I already had the console out, I ran the I-Pod wire through the console so it is not exposed. It comes out through a small hole inside the center console near the Aux plug. It looks really good and is out of the way. I posted a few photos here...

Default Ipod Setup

Check out my post over on the .Net board. I have some pics of my setup which I'm pleased with. I went with the belkin cup holder (specific to my ipod mini), the right angle adapter from radio shack, a belkin power adapter with line out (so I only need to plug one cable into the bottom of the ipod) and a ground loop isolator. this setup let's me close the armrest, and when I slide it to the first position my fingers are right over the ipod.

Good luck.

Wow, that's what I want. It's got the passthru and the display...and it's wireless.

I just wish the iPod + charger + aux cable + sound filter didnt take up the whole console!

As for the mounts, one mount was on the cup holder inside of the console, but then the console is 100% useless, so that is out. The other mount is on the cup holder outside of the console, but I cant use that one either cuz I have the manual so it would interfere with comfortable shifting. I guess the only reasonable option is the iSqueeze, but even that will be an issue with all of the cables needed.

No one has tried any longer, more eccentric solutions?

I really like this quick set up. You can take it from car to car.
