Default What can be causing that stinky sulfur smell?

The title say it all, my car,08 IS250 RWD, now is having that issue. Like when im driving, it constantly came out from no where. Sometimes when i turn on the air condition or when i roll down the window. I don't know where the hell it is causing the problem? Does anyone has the same issue before? I check the cabin filter fine as new. Last time i changed the spark plug with my buddies but i did torque every bolts properly. Is it possible from the fuel line leaking? I checked it but no leaks at all. Any help/opinion would be a apappreciation, that sulfur smell is getting me very annoying. I don't want people think i ate onions and farted.

Thanks

This has a pretty thorough answer, though I don't know how accurate it is: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_can_yo...nverter_is_bad

I know that this is a common issue with cats in the V8 4runners, but never heard of it happening in the IS...

I just went to dealership and they told me if there's no check engine light on, they can not replace it for me. Its cover under certified warranty. Dang but the smell is getting me very annoying.

Hows the battery look? Lots of corrosion? Age? I'm about 97% certain batteries have sulfuric acid in em.. and its probably leaking out.

Battery is good. It died two times due to leave the lights on and I jump started it. The age of the battery you mean? Not sure, I bought this car a year ago and battery came with it. Corrosion? I don't think so.

So if it died twice and jumped back to life theres a good chance that the chemicals inside the battery is going bad. yeah it may crank fine now, but if it hasnt been replaced since it died i would say replace the battery and see if the smell goes away. batteries do have that rotten egg smell when going bad.

Wow, I would have guessed its the cat myself. I know batteries can put out gases when charging, but surprised it was an amount that is noticeable seeing how ventilated it is (vs a closed space like a trunk).
